The boys are back in town
I had been in San Francisco for 4 years and Byron had been sailing around the work for 2 (check it out). We were finally all back in the same place. Well at least close enough for a leisurely week long motorcycle trip through New York and New England.
We ended up getting some great camping in, got to see Brian’s family, and old friends from work. Brian and I started in MA and met up with Byron and Alex, coming from NYC, in upstate NY. After backing out of our first camp site because of way to many children thing were pretty smooth sailing. Night 2 was spent at Brian’s parents house where we had the largest bonfire I’ve ever seen. Night 3 and 4 were more remote ventures that turn out a bit colder than we all expected, but provided a great quality of survival mentality. The last day riding together we ended halfway up Vermont, just over the NY border, at Michael Hollis’. It’s important you always say Michael Hollis.
This was potentially the best night of sleep camping and one of the coolest looking set up with 4 hammocks all extending from one massive tree limb. Before casting off for sleep in the hammocks we did almost manage to burn down Michael Hollis’ field and had some target practice with a really nice looking bow and set of arrows.
The next morning was grey, and would be our last as a group before we all split off. The bonus here was that it turned out to be one of the best stretches of road through Vermont and New Hampshire.
